Bethesda Lutheran Brethren Cemetery
|
When Bethesda Lutheran Brethren Church (organized March 7, 1941) was just one year old the membership recognized the need for a cemetery. A parcel of land two miles east of Westby was bought for $100 in 1942 from Kenneth and Cora Aas on what is now know as Bethesda Road. Elected to the first Cemetery Board were Melvin Solberg, President, Orlando Stalsberg, Secretary and Martin Sather, Manager and Caretaker. The first interment actually took place in 1943. Through the years the cemetery has been improved and well kept with tree plantings, new fences, gates, tool shed and most recently a new sign.
