| Our Savior’s Saugstad Cemetery |

Located at the northern edge of Westby on Saugstad Road, this cemetery marks the site of St. Petri ( Saint Peter in Norwegian) Lutheran Church. Organized in 1868, St. Petri did not build its church until 1878. Made of logs, this structure burned. On July 1, 1889, a union between St. Petri and Our Savior’s was made, forming one congregation that worshiped in Our Savior’s Church located at the present location, with the former St. Petri Cemetery becoming Our Savior’s or Saugstad Cemetery as it is still commonly known.
