Thoreson Lumber Yard

Not a common scene of Westby is this view looking south from about where the Thoreson House is located. To the left is the Thoreson Lumber business. Only the white building is standing today and has been added to at least once over the years. The bigger building in the center is one of the Bekkedal tobacco warehouses. The grain elevator to the right is painted with the Cargill name and was located along the La Crosse and Southeastern railway, today this location is that of the Logan Mill Lodge. The train tracks in the foreground are those of the Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul.
