West State Street

Looking west on State Street in the early 20s. Stevlingson and Call general merchandise, is on the left, now Dregne’s; in the distance on the same side of the street with the bell tower is the Westby fire station on first floor and the library upstairs. Today the bell is located in front of the Westby/Christiana fire station on the corner of Ramsland and Swiggum streets. On the north side of State Street is the Westby State Bank on the corner with the steps to the Opera Restaurant in the basement to the left of the front door. Pickwick Department Store is next followed by the Unseth Rexall Drug Store, Mitby Hardware and Goettel’s Meat Market on the corner of West State Street and Ramsland Street.

The sign anchored in the middle of Main Street says, Keep Right.
